Weather Conditions
Bicheno's average temperature in the summer months is 21 degrees with the water
temperature approximately 15 to 18 degrees. The average temperature in the
winter months is 15 degrees with the water temperature approximately 12 degrees.
The prevailing wind in the winter comes from the west, giving us off shore winds
for several months, providing us with superb diving conditions from June through
to early September.
A 7mm wetsuit is standard for all year diving in Bicheno, with quite a lot of
divers using 5mm wetsuits during the summer months. 7mm wetsuits are available
for hire at the Bicheno Dive Centre for those divers from the northern states.
It is always advisable to bring along warm clothing but remember something for
the clear hot days.
